What first dads wish they knew
Time for some good ol' dadvice.

Time for some good ol' dadvice. No, not the "don’t touch the thermostat" kind, but genuine pearls of wisdom straight from the frontlines of fatherhood. A post on a Facebook Group for new dads asked:
What advice do you wish someone shared with you when you had your first child?
Here’s what they had to say!
Being a Self-Compassionate Dad: “One dad reminds us to go easy on ourselves. Mistakes are going to happen. Might as well put a dad-joke bandaid on it, chuckle, and move on.”
Embrace the Journey: “Enjoy every diaper change, every sleepless night, and every first step. Because one day, those tiny feet will be stepping out on their own.”
Conversations Over Consequences: “Kids are like sponges – they learn from conversations. So instead of grounding them, ground yourself and have that heart-to-heart.”
Winging it, the Dad Way: “None of us really know what we’re doing. And that's okay! Just be present and remember that winging it is half the fun.”
The Mother-Baby Bond: “In the first few months, don't fret! Your turn will come, and in the meantime, be the superhero partner and pick up that extra slack.”
Postpartum Watch: “Keep an eye out for signs of postpartum depression in your partner. It's real, and being there makes a world of difference.”
Unpredictable Little Ones: “Child one may be a breeze, and child two? A tornado. But hey, variety is the spice of life!”
Building Your Dad Village: “Breathe, dads, breathe. It's a team sport, and it really does take a village.”
